A Heartfelt Vineyard Wedding in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Alessia and Robert’s wedding at Two Sisters Vineyards was the kind of day we won’t soon forget – timeless, elevated, and full of heartfelt moments. Nestled in the Niagara wine region, this celebration felt every bit like a destination wedding without ever leaving Ontario.
Morning Getting Ready in nearby St. David’s
Their day began in the charming hamlet of St. David’s, about 10 minutes from the wedding venue. Alessia and her bridesmaids got ready with family and a few friends in a lovely Airbnb heritage home, full of character and light – the kind of place that adds warmth to the day. Just across the street, Robert and his groomsmen were suiting up in a historic Airbnb home of their own, filled with laughter and anticipation. One of our favourite parts of the morning? The private, handwritten cards that Alessia and Robert had exchanged. Each read theirs quietly and alone, and both were moved to tears. Those words added something special to their day – and to the way we captured it.
Alessia then slipped into her dress with help from her mother, and descended the staircase where she was greeted by her bridesmaids with huge smiles and open arms. A short time later behind the winery, she shared a tender reveal with her father that was one of the day’s sweetest moments – Dad and daughter were both visibly moved, and so were we as we captured the moments discreetly from a distance.
Ceremony overlooking the Vineyards
Their outdoor ceremony on the back terrace was full of sunshine and emotion, with the vineyard stretching out behind them. Alessia and Robert read personal vows to one another, and we could feel how much thought and heart had gone into every word.
After the ceremony, the couple and their bridal party embraced the joy of the day, moving with us through the vineyard and winery grounds for their creative session — all smiles, laughter, and love. Their reception took place in the vineyards dramatic cellar space, where wooden tables, bark-trimmed chargers, knotted linen napkins, pastel roses, and candlelight, all surrounded by rustic wine barrels, created a warm, delicious, elevated atmosphere that suited the couple perfectly.
Just before sunset, we slipped away to the vineyard with Alessia and Robert, and their really wonderful photographers Ally & Nicholas, to capture some beautiful footage and photos of them together in the golden light. That soft Niagara light poured over them as they wandered through the vines – those few quiet minutes of sweet affection were stunningly beautiful moments, perfect finishing touches to their wedding film.
Barrel Cellar Reception
Alessia & Robert’s wedding reception that evening took place in the winery’s iconic and intimate Barrel Cellar. The decor was stunning, every place setting beautifully curated. After heartfelt speeches, the couples first dance, a delicious dinner, and parent dances, the evening continued with dance floor fun, celebration, and some sparkler fun outside with the bridal party. From start to finish, Alessia and Robert’s wedding day was full of love, intention, and beauty – and the setting for their day made it so clear why Two Sisters Vineyards weddings feel so perfect and unforgettable!
“Thank you so much for sending our Feature wedding film – we watched your beautiful work over the weekend and all we can say is WOW! We’re so touched, thrilled, impressed, emotional and beyond happy with how the final edit turned out! We can’t thank you enough for the care, hard work, and attention to detail (trust me, no detail went unnoticed!) that was put into our films and our day overall. You were such an integral piece of this day and we cannot say enough to express our gratitude. We look forward to watching this video and reliving these moments in the years to come and will always be reminded of your kind spirit and talent. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you!”

Two Sisters Vineyards Weddings: A Destination-style Celebration in the heart of Niagara wine country
If you’re dreaming of a luxury vineyard wedding without the need for international flights, Two Sisters Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake offers one of the most elegant, elevated experiences you’ll find in Ontario. Nestled in the heart of wine country, this venue combines old-world European charm with the natural beauty of Niagara’s rolling vineyards – all just 90 minutes from Toronto.
Having filmed weddings across many of the top Niagara wineries, we can say that Two Sisters Vineyards weddings stand apart. From the scenery to the service, there’s something uniquely cinematic about this place. Whether you’re planning an intimate celebration or a full-scale event with all your friends and family, here’s what to expect – and how to make the most of it.
A Setting That Feels Like a Getaway
The moment you arrive, Two Sisters transports you. The main estate’s European-inspired architecture, the surrounding vineyards, and the golden Niagara light create a truly transportive backdrop. For couples and guests alike, it feels like you’ve arrived at a Tuscan villa – without leaving Ontario.
Located just a few minutes from the quaint historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and tucked along the same corridor as other celebrated wineries like Peller and Stratus, Two Sisters offers easy access to accommodation, dining, and attractions while maintaining an air of quiet exclusivity.
For Alessia & Robert’s wedding — which we had the joy of filming — guests made a weekend out of it, staying in local inns, boutique hotels, and charming Airbnb rentals throughout St. Davids and Niagara-on-the-Lake. It’s that kind of place: once you’re here, you’ll want to linger.
Ceremony Spaces: Garden Terrace with a View
The most common ceremony spot at Two Sisters Vineyards is the covered garden terrace at the back of the estate, overlooking the vineyard. It’s an elegant, weather-protected space that works beautifully from spring through fall.
Rows of white chairs line up facing a wooden or floral arch (customizable), with the vineyard stretching out behind as your ceremony backdrop. Sunlight filters in from the west in the late afternoon, casting a golden hue over the couple and their guests. It’s a naturally romantic setting – and ideal for capturing wedding videography without needing much additional staging.
For Alessia & Robert, this terrace was the setting for their personal vows, exchanged under a sky that seemed made for the moment. You could hear the soft rustle of the vines and the emotional hush of their family and friends – a setting that felt both grand and intimate.
The Vineyard: Perfect for Portraits & First Looks
For your first look, creative portraits, or post-ceremony photos, you’ll want to take full advantage of the estate’s vineyard rows and lush surrounding grounds. The vines stretch far in both directions, offering endless opportunities for natural, candid moments on camera.
Depending on the time of year, the look and feel of the vineyard changes. Summer gives you lush greenery and full vines, while early autumn adds golden warmth and a bit of harvest magic. From a filmmaker’s perspective, this is one of the most photogenic vineyards in the region – it catches golden hour light beautifully, and the textures (wood, grapevines, limestone) all contribute to a rich visual story.
Reception: The Wine Cellar Room
The barrel cellar at Two Sisters Vineyards is the primary indoor reception space, and it’s stunning. Stone walls, arched ceilings, and dramatic wine casks create a mood that’s warm, rustic, and refined – think Tuscan wine cave with a modern twist.
Long farmhouse tables or round tables can be arranged throughout the space, and the room takes beautifully to candlelight and floral décor. For Alessia & Robert, pastel-toned roses, knotted linens, and bark-trimmed wooden chargers (also called slab chargers or wood slices) added just the right mix of elegance and rustic detail.
Dinner is typically plated and wine-paired – no surprise here. Two Sisters is a working winery, and their culinary and sommelier teams deliver an experience worthy of the setting.
Food, Wine, and Guest Experience
The culinary program at Two Sisters is a major highlight. The venue’s executive chef leads the in-house catering, and you can expect refined dishes made with local ingredients and paired expertly with the vineyard’s own wines.
Options typically include:
- Plated multi-course menus with seasonal choices
- Custom wine pairings selected for each course
- Accommodations for dietary restrictions
- Late-night snack options available
Most couples opt for an on-site tasting and consultation ahead of their wedding, which is highly recommended. It’s not just about selecting a menu – it’s an experience in itself, and it gives you a feel for how food and wine play such a central role at this venue.
What to Expect When Planning
Planning a wedding at Two Sisters comes with many benefits – but also a few unique considerations:
- Guest Count: Ideal for weddings of 80–120 guests. Larger weddings may require tenting or custom layouts; intimate weddings are easily accommodated indoors.
- Exclusivity: The venue hosts one wedding per day, so you won’t be sharing the space — a huge plus.
- Time Access: You’ll have access to the estate for setup and prep, but accommodations are offsite — plan transportation accordingly.
- Seasonality: Most weddings take place May through October, though early spring and late fall can be stunning (and slightly less in demand).
Many couples – like Alessia & Robert – book local heritage homes or boutique inns in St. Davids, Niagara-on-the-Lake, or Virgil for getting ready and accommodations. The vibe of these homes really complements the feel of the vineyard and gives your day a personal, relaxed start.
