Cinematic Jewish wedding films that honour family, faith, and celebration
When couples search for a Jewish wedding videographer, they’re usually looking for more than someone who simply records events. They want someone who understands the rhythm of the day, the meaning behind the traditions, and the importance of family woven into every moment.
Jewish weddings carry a unique spirit — emotional, joyful, deeply connected, and filled with celebration from morning preparations through the final dance. Capturing that atmosphere authentically is what I love most about filming these weddings.
Over the past 14 years as a Toronto wedding videographer, I’ve had the privilege of documenting many Jewish wedding celebrations across the city and the GTA. Each one has reminded me how powerful it is to see generations gathered together, traditions honored, and families celebrating with such warmth and joy.
My goal is to preserve all of that energy and emotion in a film that lets you relive not only how your wedding looked, but how it felt.
If you’re planning a Jewish wedding in Toronto or the surrounding area, you’re in the right place.
Three Real Jewish Weddings in the GTA
Here are a few Jewish wedding celebrations I’ve recently filmed. Each couple brings their own personality and traditions, but the warmth and celebration at the heart of the day always shines through.
Samantha & Joshua at The Crystal Ballroom
A refined, elegant downtown Toronto wedding at the Omni King Edward Hotel filled with heartfelt family moments and an incredible reception where everyone shared the dance floor well into the evening.

Aly & Benji at Arlington Estate
From getting ready to a reception that never slowed down, Aly & Benji’s wedding beautifully balanced heartfelt moments with fun and celebration.
“Both our photographers and videographers were incredible! They captured all of our special moments perfectly and we couldn’t be happier. Nadav at Manning Avenue and John at Summerfield Films both made us feel extremely comfortable and stress free.”

Tessa & Reese at Palais Royale
A lakeside celebration filled with laughter and emotion, from relaxed morning preparations to a packed dance floor during the hora. Their ceremony blended meaningful traditions with an atmosphere of joy shared by family and friends from around the world.

Filming Within Toronto’s Jewish Community
The couples I’ve worked with over the years have come from many congregations across Toronto and the GTA, including families connected with Temple Sinai, Temple Har Zion, Abir Yaakob Congregation, and Beth Avraham Yoseph of Toronto (BAYT) to name just a few.
Each congregation and community brings its own personality and customs to the day, and it’s always an honour to document these celebrations with care and respect. My role is never to interrupt or direct, but to quietly capture what naturally unfolds.
What I Love About Jewish Weddings
One of the most remarkable things about Jewish weddings the Jewish community is their emphasis on family. You see it from the moment preparations begin — parents, siblings, grandparents, and lifelong friends all play deeply meaningful roles throughout the day.
There’s a genuine warmth present – a feeling of deep-rooted love, respect, and strong family bonds that stretch across generations. The connection between families and the couple is incredibly touching, and the emotion that flows through the celebration is incredibly moving to witness.
There’s also an unmistakable spirit of joy that carries through every part of the day.
The anticipation leading into the Bedeken.
The beauty and symbolism of the Chuppah ceremony.
The collective emotion when the glass is broken.
And then the burst of energy as everyone rushes to the dance floor for the hora.
These weddings feel alive from start to finish. My goal is to preserve not just the events themselves, but the feeling of being surrounded by the people who matter most.
Understanding the Flow of a Jewish Wedding Day
Jewish wedding celebrations often include meaningful events happening quickly and sometimes simultaneously. Experience matters so important moments aren’t missed.
Common elements I regularly plan coverage around include:
• Bedeken
• Ketubah signing
• Chuppah ceremony
• Breaking of the glass
• Hora and reception celebrations
• Family blessings and speeches
Because emotions run high and moments unfold quickly, preparation and coordination are essential. My approach ensures traditions and the reactions surrounding them are captured naturally and unobtrusively.
Familiar With Jewish Wedding Venues Across the Greater Toronto Area
Jewish weddings take place throughout Toronto and the surrounding region, from downtown hotels and waterfront venues to large estate properties and banquet halls.
Having filmed weddings across the GTA, I’m comfortable adapting to each venue’s layout and timeline so coverage flows smoothly and nothing important is missed.
Wherever your celebration takes place, the focus remains the same — capturing the atmosphere, energy, and relationships that make your day unique.
Here’s a partial list of wedding venues where I’ve filmed Jewish weddings across Toronto and the GTA: Palais Royale, Terrace Event Venue, Four Seasons Toronto, the Sephardic Kehila Centre, Chateau Le Parc Event Centre, Lebovic Jewish Community Campus, Casa Loma, Royal Conservatory of Music, Chateau Le Jardin Event Venue, Park Hyatt Toronto, Grandluxe Event Boutique, The Arlington Estate, Eagles Nest GC, The Manor, and many more.
My Approach to Filming
Couples often tell me they forget cameras are even present during their wedding day. That’s intentional.
I work quietly in the background, allowing moments to unfold naturally. The laughter, nerves, embraces, and dance floor chaos don’t need staging — they simply need to be preserved authentically.
Years from now, your wedding film should bring you back to those moments and the people who surrounded you.
Jewish wedding couples and their families seek me out because I create beautiful cinematic Jewish wedding films that are different, fresh, and modern, yet capture the story of their simcha in a timeless style that endures. Quite often I receive referrals from my happy couples that result in me filming Jewish weddings for their siblings, cousins and friends.
Reviews from my Jewish Wedding Couples
These are just a few reviews and kind words from some of the Jewish couples I’ve worked with…
“John – thank you soooooo much for the video!! We’ve watched it a bunch of times and are beyond obsessed with it! You did an amazing job and captured the day perfectly. We really appreciate all your hard work, and can’t recommend you enough to our friends!!” – Aly & Benji
“Working with John was a pleasure and we highly recommend him! From our first meeting where John took the time to go through the process and took the time to get to know us, we knew right away that he would do an incredible job capturing our wedding. We also loved the variety of films we would get with Summerfield Films, which we could not find anywhere else. On our wedding day, John and his team captured every special moment in the lead up to the wedding as we got ready, during our ceremony, and throughout the celebration that night. We were in awe when we received our wedding films, allowing us to relive our most special day. Thank you so much! If you are looking for a wedding videographer, we highly recommend John and his team!” – Carly & Alex
“I’m sitting here watching our wedding film, bawling my eyes out. I don’t think I’ve cried so hard since the wedding!! John, you did an AMAZING job. The video brought back all the emotions I had during the wedding. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being such an awesome part of our wedding day!” – Amalia & Eli
